Kit and Clowder Fall Gnome

Hi Everyone!
This weekend, I finally got around to doing some coloring. I have a subscription to Kit and Clowder, a monthly class that shows different techniques, and finally got to the September 2023 class.
I am on a Gnome kick this year and really liked the colors in the September class. The class is done with Prismacolor colored pencils, but she does include alternative pencil brands. I keep those combinations handy for reference on pages that I want to color in the future
One of the best benefits of the class is the video that is included. She shows how to achieve the technique that is used on the image. In this case it was knitting. I chose not to do this as I am a terrible drawer, and I really liked how I colored the hat. If I were to do this again, I would draw the knit pattern first before coloring.
The class includes two images, one in grey scale (sometimes called no line) and the other in black lined. The no line image is nice when you don’t want a black outline but it’s difficult to see all the details of the image.
For many of the leaves, I colored them green instead of fall colors. Most were very tiny and to be honest, at one point I was wanting to finish the image. :(. I learned how to do a beard as well as straw for the ground.
Overall, I really enjoyed this class. I like that I am learning more about color and color blending. I have realized that I learn more by doing than by swatching.
Unti next time
