Mouse House
I have been a subscriber of Kit and Clowder for some time but haven’t really done any of her tutorials. As part of my goals for the new year, I wanted to commit to doing her classes each month.
She has a marker subscription, pencil subscription and the option for both. One of the benefits, she sends out a bonus class each month. The October bonus class was Mouse House.
This being my first class with her, the techniques were a little difficult to follow. I am a type of colorist that is used to smooth blending and the basic three-color blend.
This particular class’s technique was building texture. Learning to create texture without creating streaks was the most challenging part of this tutorial.
I liked the way I attempted the apple. Still looking at her photo, I can see I got my light source messed up. But for my first try, I like how I did.
I have to remember, there is no perfection when learning something for the first time. It will take practice and consistency in order to achieve what the artist from Kit and Clowder is able to do.
This post isn’t sponsored by them but I really enjoy her classes. If you are interested in learning more about her techniques and color combinations, please check out kitandclowder.com
Thanks so much for stopping by!
